Those reading glasses that block out blue light from computer screens, and phones really do help. I have given up texting on my phone, as it really bothers my eyes, and leaves them blurry. Not going to waste my eyesight on small screens like phones. Desktop all the way for me.

While regular glasses may help with some vision issues, AMD specifically affects your central vision in ways that standard prescription glasses cannot fully correct. However, there are specialized low-vision tools and accessories that can help manage blurry vision caused by AMD.

Magnifiers, including both handheld and electronic versions, can be particularly helpful for reading labels, books, or bills. These tools can help compensate for the central vision loss that makes everyday tasks challenging. To maximize your ability to see clearly, it's also important to optimize your environment. Using high-contrast colors and better lighting can make items easier to see. Consider adding task lamps in areas where you need to focus on detailed activities, and use energy-efficient bulbs that provide good illumination while minimizing glare.

Remember to maintain regular appointments with your eye doctor, who can monitor your vision changes and recommend the most appropriate visual aids for your specific situation.
