Stem cells are being investigated for AMD but still in early stages-There is no FDA approval of stem cells for pain, etc so any treatment avaiable is under scrutiny by the FDA-This is a site for sharing 8nformation. Not promoting non-Fda approved treatments for ANY medical conditions

Thanks for the info on stem cell treatments. I had stem cell injections in my knees and it worked great....but does take time. It was so gradual that it was over a year before I realized I was running up and down the stairs like a teenager.

My retinologist says that stem cell therapy is in the works but will take time for trials approved by the FDA. This is assuming that the current administration does not slash funding for this science. USC Roski Center will shortly be in stage 2 trials for a retinal implant for GA/Advanced dry AMD. First trial was amazing success. I am too old to benefit from this research, but you aren't. Google retinal implant trials USC and keep up.
