It is not yet approved by Medicare. Some insurance companies are looking in to that. To my knowledge the FDA has not officially approved it, but is allowing it to be used.

Does Medicare or AARP pay for VALEDA?

Not exactly. Look up Valeda light delivery system for an explanation. My wife has undergone 9 treatments in three weeks. She may have gained some improvement but it is too early in the process to know for sure. Her next scheduled treatments are in November.
