I notice when reading that the words can look blurry & in 5 min they clear right up.
When driving the lines on the road are occassionally wavey. 2 miles down the road the lines are straight again.
Does anyone else notice this?

Hi everyone . I have dry amd. I am seeing wavy lines. It started with seeing window frames on larger building looking wavy, and now it’s more advanced.
I am wondering if any of you with these wavy lines , have had Cateract surgery. I have had both eyes done. I also struggle with astigmatism so my eyesight is bothering me.
I will update I go for my last Cateract surgery in June.
I also see black splotches but if I blink a time or two it goes away.
And my eyesight water a lot too.
Just sharing my experience.
Thank all of you for sharing it’s so helpful. Have a blessed day.
Hi Darlene. I have started noticing lately while watching TV that my right eye (that is the one that has the drusen) will look blurry in the center and then if I blink a few times the blurriness goes away. I am not sure if it is due to AMD or maybe some extra oils in my tear film causing it. I am inclined to think it is something in the tear film because it does go away if I blink a few times.
Regarding the wavy lines on the road while driving, no I have not experienced that but my understanding is that if you do see wavy lines that is something to contact your eye doctor about right away. Not trying to scare you but if it were me I would make an appointment and let the doctors office know that you need to be seen as soon as possible.
I would say from my experience and knowledge from having dry eye advanced, if you are seeing wavy lines, contact your doctor right away, do not wait, that was what I was told. Our eyes are not a wait and see what happens, see your doctor, an Ophthamologist .
Bernice, you should contact your retinologist immediately. Seeing wavy lines can mean a progression. Please do not put this off.
We have stopped treatment on my right eye which has late diagnosed GA. I still have some peripheral vision and from what I can gather my right eye battles with my left eye creating double vision when I am in the car as a passenger. I am receiving treatment in my left eye to preserve my vision as long as possible. The toughest part has been my inability to drive now. It is hard to accept dependence on some one else to take me where I need to go - never mind to the places I would go if I was independent. I will be 80 on 6/17 but still on the go.
