One would think your doctor would have information about the treatment but mine has never mentioned it! I’m searching for a new RS mine it seems is more concerned about how many patients he can see and doesn’t offer much information! If I learn anything I will pass it on!

Yes, photobiomodulation (PBM) has been extensively researched for dry AMD treatment. In fact, the FDA recently authorized a device called the Valeda Light Delivery System specifically for treating dry AMD. This technology uses light at three specific wavelengths to improve retinal health, reduce inflammation, and enhance visual clarity. Clinical trials have shown promising results. Participants who received Valeda treatment experienced significant vision improvement and preservation for up to 24 months, particularly those in early or intermediate stages of AMD. The treatment involves nine sessions over three to four weeks, with each session lasting about four minutes. Importantly, no significant side effects were reported during trials.
The authorization of this treatment is particularly significant because it represents one of the first FDA-approved therapies that may actively improve visual acuity and address underlying damage to retinal cells in dry AMD patients.
